Personal Interests
In high school, while maintaining membership in the National Honor Society, I played soccer, basketball and baseball, and was the captain of both my varsity soccer and basketball teams. In college, I played for the club soccer team at MSU and was a captain in my senior year. My sporting experiences have instilled in me a belief that hard work is usually a necessary component of success. I also enjoy traveling and studying abroad. I backpacked through Europe for three weeks before my course work began in Madrid. Along with Europe, I also spent three years teaching English in South Korea, while seeing numerous countries throughout Asia. As a result of my travels, I have seen and experienced many different cultures, developing a very open mind to diversity. It has also furthered my belief that the best way to learn in through experiences something, rather than just from a book, which is how I try to run both my English and Mathematics classrooms.
